Kachina Country Day School Parent Teacher Organization

The PTO is an organization of parents and teachers meeting for the enrichment of the school environment and improvement of the educational experience of the students.

Our Organization

The Parent-Teacher Organization at Kachina Country Day School meets monthly. We are very excited about the coming year and look forward to doing more and more for the students at Kachina. We have a slowly growing group of dedicated parents, and we are constantly reaching out for more and more members. The teachers, and our Principal too, have offered constant support and are always wonderful. The goal of our organization is the enrichment of the students' experiences.

Excerpts from the Parent/Teacher Organization By-Laws

The By-Laws, Article II, Statement of Purpose:

The Parent/Teacher Organization is a voluntary organization created to provide a vehicle for parent and staff support of and particpation in KCDS activities. All programs and activities of the Parent/Teacher Organzation must be planned and executed in accordance with KCDS by-laws, policies, and procedures. There shall be ongoing interaction with the KCDS Board of Directors who will have ultimate authority in matters related to school policy, protocol, and fund raising.

The By-Laws, Article III, Basic Policies; Section 1: The organization shall be non-commerical, nonsectarian, and nonpartisan.

The By-Laws, Article IV, Membership; Section 1: Every parent or guardian of a child enrolled in KCDS is eligible for membership in the Organization. All KCDS employees are invited to the memberhsip. Persons may be admitted to the membership at any time.

Section 2: Only members of the Organization shall be elibigle to particpate in the business meetings or to serve in any of its elected positions.
