Picnic Pot Luck

A big month or so left of school!  The PTO is very proud to be spending our fund-raised-funds on school events and supplies.  There is more information on the website, and as always look for letters home from your teachers.

Thanks to everyone who has worked so hard for Kachina over the years--especially this last year with all of our hard times.  It is so important for our children to feel safe and for them to learn and grow every day.  You have all been a part of making that happen at KCDS.  And it is very much appreciated.

Spring Pot Luck
Mood:  cheeky

April 29th--set the date!  Our Spring Silent Auction has had to reorganize--and has morphed into a Pot Luck event!  We will have some great prizes for a raffle ($1 per ticket; 6 for $5), but the best part of the evening will be the one last chance for Kachina Country Day School families to get together.

Please plan to come!

Picture Day!

Picture day April 5th.  What great backgrounds this year!  Remember the pictures come home before any money needs to be paid, and this is the non-uniform picture.  I look forward to seeing all those Spring outfits!

And another reminder...

Our last big fund raiser of the year!  April 29th at Cactus Park.  This is always such as fun time for our Kachina family!  I hope everyone will come!  We will have the Silent Auction of the class baskets, as usual, and there will be a "Pick Your Prize" raffle as well.

Right now we need donations.  There is a letter in the PTO mailbox that everyone should come by and pick up explaining the Auction and asking for donations.  The letter can be given to any business as a request for a tax deductable donation.  We need big and small donations for everything from the class baskets to the raffle.

This will be a bittersweet event, I know.  But I hope everyone can still get behind the PTO and throw a really great party!

Yes, the end is coming

My apologies for not writing sooner!  It has been an eventful Christmas and New Year season.

As everyone now knows, Kachina Country Day School has been denied Charter renewal, which means that at the end of this school year the school will close.

That is terribly sad news, I know.  I am very disappointed to have looked so long for a good school, only to have situations beyond my control take it away again.

However, there are still four months of this year left, and I want to make the time remaining as good for the students as possible!

So, we still have our Spring Book Fair--begins next week! Be sure to check the website!  And will have more PTO dinners out, a Spring Silent Auction and BBQ and more!  I hope everyone sticks with the school through end!

There is another school coming in to the Kachina spot--it is a private school, not charter, but Mr. Steve will be the principal and it will be in the same building with some of the same teachers.  I am hoping that Scottsdale Country Day School will be a great alternative for our families.
