Busy Time of Year!
Mood:  caffeinated

What a busy month we have coming!  Parent-teacher conferences finish out October, with a 1/2 day on Wednesday.  A great way to spend that 1/2 day with the kids...at Panda Express!  We are running a  fund raiser that afternoon and evening from 1:00-8:00!  I hope everyone comes over for lunch that day, or after their conferences for dinner!

November ushers in the end of the Cookie Dough orders, and the beginning of the Honey Baked Ham orders.  Both will be delivered on November 19th, so a great time to pick up Thanksgiving dinner and dessert.  Along with enough baking to last through the holiday!

November 1st is also when our Annual Fall Food Drive will begin.  Caroline Pilkinton will be running that this year for us.  All the donations go to the Paradise Valley Emergency Food Bank, so everything stays in our neighborhood for our neighbors.  I hope folks empty their cupboards to fill others'.

Two holidays--Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving.  Then back to school for a week before December begins!  We'll have more food drive, a book fair December 11th, and there are rumors of another Minimall!

A busy time indeed!

Something New!
Mood:  bright

Fresh & Easy!  What a nice store!  We have a new fund raiser already underway with Fresh & Easy.  Our families need to collect receipts worth $20 or more, and Fresh & Easy will donate $1!  What a great deal!

They don't combine receipts, so two receipts worth $10 each would not get us any donations, but for every $20, we'll get another $1.  So, for a $40 receipt, we'll get $2, for $60 we'll get $3, and so on!

The collection has already started, and it only runs through December 31, so I hope people hear about it and get collecting soon!

Fall Family Festival!
Mood:  a-ok

What a nice night!  So many people came out an a hot night to make the Fall Family Festival Pot Luck a success!  Thanks to Wear-it-now for their T-Shirts, and donation, and to everyone who donated to the raffle.  The Fund Raising Committee meets this week to talk about what happens next, and to review how much we made at the raffle, so I hope folks come!

I sure like the Pot Luck!  We had so many different types of food--and I don't think ANYone went hungry!  I know some went thirsty--and I feel bad about that!--but if it hadn't been so darn hot, we probably would have had too many drinks!  Ah, well, live and learn!  We'll get it right one year!

Thank again for a good night!

Moving On!
Mood:  special

Already moving on!  Thanks to the help we had last week, the fair was wonderful!  And now...on to the next event!

October 1st is coming fast!  Our Annual Fall Family Pot Luck and Raffle!  Cactus Park should be great that night--the weather is still warm now, but it should be nice in a couple weeks.  We are gathering raffle items now!  We'll have a special guest that night too--Wear It Now will be there with a special booth to create t-shirts with the kids' faces on them!  For only $18, Scott Overman will create a one-of-a-kind tee that parents can take home that night!

Then, of course, is the Fall Break.  No School for a week!  Already!

The Cookie Dough Sale will begin right after the break.  The dough should be delivered just in time for Thanksgiving.  A nice addition to any table.

We should also have a PTO Dinner Out in October!  A busy month!

The Book Fair!
Mood:  lucky

What a nice week!  We had lots of people come by the Book Fair, so I know there are lots of kids with new books!  The Breakfast Tuesday morning was very nice--Elaine Gadd did a great job!  The Open House Wednesday night was fun too--lots of pictures of Superman and Supergirl!  The Jamba Juice was appreciated too!

Wish most folks had come Wednesday, though!  There was a lot of work that went into the Superman/Supergirl pictures, but only a few got their pictures on Facebook!  I hope a lot of folks check out that facebook page!  They are cute!
