Steve Prahcharov, Principal
My name is Steve Prahcharov and I am the
Principal of Kachina Country Day School. I am in my 12th year of education having started my career in England.
I have a Masters degree in Educational
Administration and am into my fifth year as a principal. I love my job and am extremely fortunate to be in a position where
I work with children and see them grow each and every day.
I have been married to my wife Kathy
for six years and we have two year old twins, Henry and Elle. They keep us very busy and each minute with them is an absolute
joy!
Soccer is a passion of mine and after
playing semi-professional in England for seven years, I then coached soccer for nine years. I love to play golf whenever I
get the chance and have been lucky enough to have achieved a hole in one! I also enjoy traveling, and so far have visited
22 different countries with Italy and Germany being my favorites.
Kachina Country Day School is a wonderful
place to work, an awesome school for students and their parents, and a welcoming environment for everyone. I invite you
to join our Kachina Family! Please contact me at (480) 348-1333 or steve@kachinaschool.com should you have any questions about our school.
We are at 180 students right now and I
am very much looking forward to a great year! Thank you again Kris for all that you do!
Sonja Columb, Recorder
My name is Sonja Columb, and I have one child in Kachina Country Day School--a daughter in 4rd grade.
I have had the privilege of working with the school for three years now, and I am very appreciatve of being able to work
with such a great principal. I feel there is great support and open communication that would be lacking in a public school.
My husband Dave and myself have been married for 25 years. We have been able to work together as a team with several businesses.
Dave is now a financial planner and stock broker, and I am an independent health and life insurance broker which I thoroughly
enjoy!
I was born and raised in Idaho, and after I met Dave (a Wisconsin boy raised on a dairy farm), we married and eventually
ended up in Scottsdale where we have been for the past 24 years. We were able to sow our wild oats and then along came children
after being married for twelve years.
Our son is a music buff and loves to do imitations (especially of his teachers), and our daughter loves anything to do
with art. We are all very active with our religion and spend several hours a month volunteering. We also enjoy traveling,
watching movies, hanging out with our family and our yearly camping/road biking trip where we bike 200 miles in beautiful
northern Arizona.
I am very excited to work with the PTO this year. I believe we have a great team, and this allows me to be very active
in the activites of the school and the education of my children. I would welcome any input from our parents and am happy to
work with them to achieve all the goals set by our PTO.

My name is Kris Johnston, and this is my family's second year at Kachina. I have three kids
attending this year in 3rd, 6th and 8th grades. Each member of my family is enjoying their Kachina experience very
much--we feel as if we've found a hidden treasure!
Arizona has always been home to me. I am actually a native--born in Tucson, raised in Scottsdale, educated
in Flagstaff and living now in Phoenix! I have been married for more than 20 years, and the time that I am not taking
care of the family is spent teaching college at Glendale Community College. Teaching college for the last
20 years has been a wonderful experience--I enjoy it very much.
Having the chance to be of service to you and your students is very exciting for me. I am always open
for any suggestions or questions, so please feel free to contact me anytime!
Lori Glover, Treasurer
My name is Lori Glover, and I am the Food Drive Coordinator. My son is currently a 5th grader. We have been
a part of the Kachina family for 5 years.
After 20 years in corporate life, I left the hustle and bustle behind and am enjoying more quality time with
my family. I volunteer at a Martial Arts After School program, and find it very rewarding. Like Steve, I enjoy seeing the
children grow and learn each day.
