PTO dinner out: Chick-Fil-A on December 7 from 5:00-7:00. Come eat with friends
and family and earn the school something too! Stickers will be coming home, and we will have a special visitor
on Monday morning! Come to Flag Monday to meet him!
Food Drive ends this week! Help feed families in need, right here in our neighborhood. The classes are competing
to see which class brings in the most food! See the link on this page for more information about the food

An open letter to Kachina

ECA Tax Credit for KCDS
Dear
Parents, Families, and Friends of Kachina,
I am
writing to remind you of an Arizona tax credit opportunity for you and humbly request your help. As you may know, each year
Arizonan residents are provided the opportunity to give up to $400 per couple or $200 per individual by way of a tax credit
to a public school of their choosing.
We are not asking for a donation. You will either receive this money back, or it will be applied as a full,
dollar for dollar credit, when you file your 2009 Arizona taxes. The amount given also serves as a deduction on your federal
returns. If you file your taxes individually, you may give up to a maximum of $200, and up to a maximum of $400 if you file
your taxes jointly. A receipt will be given to you and don’t forget to ask family members and friends to give their
tax credit too! Please use Arizona Form 323 to claim this credit when filing
your 2009 Arizona taxes.

It is an amazing way for our school to raise money and increase the quality of the program we provide. Each time a family
contributes, an apple with your name will be placed on our Kachina Family Tree located outside the main office. Remember,
friends and family members can give too.

suggestion and request. With tough economic times, it is important to utilize tax saving options available to all of us as
taxpayers. If you cannot take advantage of this tax savings at this time, I completely understand. Thank you so much
for helping us to help your children!

We're almost half way there!
Those of you shopping at Fry's know about the VIP cards. They give the shopper great deals
on groceries...and they give the school a benefit too! There are currently 31 cards linked (meaning when those
cards are used at Fry's, the sale is linked to our school), and we have already gathered more than $21,200! We
need to hit $50,000 in grocery sales for Fry's to donate $500 to the school, so keep shopping! If you do not yet have
your card linked, stop by the office for the barcode. You only need to have the barcode scanned
once a year, and then all of your purchases will add to our donations! Every little bit helps, and it is from all
Fry's, Fry's Marketplace and Kroger Stores, so be sure to take a barcode for your friends and families too--even those
who are out of the Phoenix area!
